The World's Stupidest Deaths Book
Gadget No. 0430
Death is a sad and serious business.... Usually, but The World's Stupidest Deaths seeks to prove otherwise by revealing many unbelievable examples of the world's most outrageous (and, in some cases, ironic) demises. Be amused and bewildered by the unfortunate accidents that some poor citizens face at the end, and more especially by the unorthodox lengths to which certain people will go to achieve notoriety in death!
Here are but a few to get you started: In 1982, David Grundman from Pheonix, Arizona, fired both barrels of a shotgun at a giant saguaro cactus. The blast caused a 23-foot section of the huge plant to fall on him, and he was crushed (and spiked) to death! In July 1999, during an exhibition in Northern Thailand, Austrian Dwarf and circus acrobat Franz Dasch was killed when he bounced from a trampoline into the yawning mouth of a nearby hippopotamus, and was swallowed. Not realizing that a terrible accident had occurred, the 7,000-strong crowd continued to applaud, unaware of the fact that the panicked crew and paramedics were not part of the act.
From utterly mindless homicides for the most bizarrely trivial of reasons, to the misfortunate ends of those who simply happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, The World's Stupidest Deaths offers proof that there are some people who really shouldn't be left in control of their own destinies!
