Pride comes before a fall, they say, and there's plenty of evidence to be had courtesy of this board-and-activity based game that seems hell-bent on encouraging the most foolish boasting... then cruelly exploiting it.
Chalenj! - said to be pronounced cha-longe, for some obscure (and probably French) reason - puts you and your fellow competitors in the hot-seat as you bid to outdo one another in the knowledge stakes... and out-perform one another in the silliness stakes.
Comprising no fewer than 800 different challenges encompassing physical, mental, personal and mystery categories, you could be faced with bidding against your competitors to see who can perform the most star jumps or name six different types of nut in a mere 30 seconds. (And, take it from us at gadgetshop HQ, it's always a touch more difficult when the timer is running out in front of your very eyes)
Just imagine Twister reinvented for the 21st Century, with more than a touch of Trivial Pursuit thrown in for good measure - all live, all highly competitive, and all against the clock. Phew.
Racing your way round the Chalenj! board to lift the legenary Chalenj! cup, it's all about keeping your nerve, knowing your abilities (and limitations) and judging the most opportune moment to throw down the dreaded Chalenj! glove (yes, a glove) to watch your competitors make fools of themselves. Hilarious - and beware, scarily addictive.
