For deep within its wooden body lies a scroll seen by no-one except the maker...Put the Da Vinci Code together with A-Level CDT and what have you got (other than a lot of dead French people and some wood chippings)? A box very much like this one; mind-bendingly, gut-wrenchingly infuriating in its construction.

All it asks of you is to release the scroll that's hidden inside. And that can't be too much to ask of a grown-up, can it? So we'll be straight with you. If you can't understand the first paragraph, you'll be hopeless at the Legend of the King puzzle. It's a beautiful brain-teasing box so cunning in its ingenuity that even we in all our Mensa-busting cleverness couldn't work it out until we had mastered the first two puzzles in the chain. And here's the truly, splendidly clever bit. This is the third part of the Sacred Myths and Legends puzzle series, so it helps to have gathered clues along the way. If you haven't, good luck, for it makes Rubik's cube seem about as tough as Connect 4. And it's much, much nicer to look at on your mantelpiece. Go on. We dare you.
