Whenever we find ourselves at a loss for hands - when we've got too much to carry and need to remove, say, a smoking jacket - there's invariably nowhere to put it. Granted, at one's London club there's a Little Man from Harrods with green pinnie to take it away for you, dust it down and keep it safe. But most of us tend to use a coat hook, a cunning device applied to the reverse of a door, or, if one is inclined to make more mess, directly into a wall. Now at last there is a solution for those design-inclined sports enthusiasts who cannot abide the kind of black iron coat hooks beloved of old pubs, stables and, confusingly, B&Q.
