The circus that is the staff kitchen here at gadgetshop HQ could almost certainly do with one of these. But they're not for the feint-heated. Or anyone who might fear skewering the little red man at the heart of this innovative little contraption.

Throwzini's Knife Block, to give it its full title, is a rotating high-tech knife storage and selection device complete with five professional stainless steel kitchen knives. Inspired by the infamous 'Wheel of Death' circus act from back in 1938, it safely stores knives deep inside a set of custom-designed plastic sheaths. So much for its functional benefits, which are many.

It's the sheer death-defying style of this clever contraption that's had tongues a-wagging here at HQ. To store one's knives, one must first stop the block from spinning and carefully insert said knives into five pre-cut slots. Meanwhile, clever little magnets do all the heavy lifting work of keeping the spinning knives perfectly in place. (After all, one must consider Health and Safety at all times).

All you then need to do, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, is slap on some greasepaint, pop on a red nose and some outsize shoes, prepare a few custard pies and you're all set for an evening of extravagant culinary performance.
