There's nothing quite like the feeling of sloshing around in a bathful of lukewarm soapy water to the relaxing vibes of Gardeners' Question Time, is there? Or smoothing your start to the day with a glass of milk and an invigorating shower to the gentle wakeup call of Terry Wogan.
But the dashed problem with all that radio-meets-water / water-meets-electricity malarkey is that the two simply don't go together. Like Eric Morecambe and Ronnie Corbett, for example.
In the past, taking a radio receiving device into the shower was simply asking for trouble. But no longer, for deliverance from electrocution is at last at hand, in the classic shape of a yellow rubber duckie. It works like so: twist his little head to activate the device and control the volume. Press the little button on his side to select your analogue waveband of choice. Twist his little tail to fine-tune your station selection. Once tuned, your preferred radio station is amplified through a waterproof speaker cleverly in-set in the duck's head itself. Simply marvellous.
The rubber duck looks and feels like a rubber duck, and floats on the surface of the water, or sits elegantly on the side, for all manner of slippery bathtime fun. Now, to listen to the latest adventures of those simple country folk in The Archers of an evening, simply run a bath and reach for duckie. We absolutely promise that the wireless will never sound the same again.
